With a degree in International Relations from El Colegio de M茅xico and a Master's degree in Political Science from Stanford University, Celia Toro is an academic with a long career. She has been a visiting researcher at various institutions, such as the University of Texas-Austin, Stanford University, Harvard University and the Center for U.S-Mexican Studies at the University of California in San Diego. Currently, she is a Professor-Researcher at the Center for International Studies of El Colegio de M茅xico and Coordinator of the Mexico-United States-Canada Program (PROMEC), as well as the Interinstitutional Program for Studies on the North American Region (PIERAN). His lines of research include international relations, Mexican foreign policy and drug trafficking in the Mexico-United States relationship. His recent research refers to the change in relations between Mexico and the United States in the field of security. Throughout her career, Celia Toro has had various responsibilities. She was Director of the magazine Foro Internacional (May 1989 鈥 May 1993) and Director of the Center for International Studies of El Colegio de M茅xico (January 1997 鈥 December 2002). She was also General Director of the Mat铆as Romero Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (July 2007 鈥 June 2011). She is the author of numerous books, chapters and articles. In 2017, he published 鈥淰icissitudes of the Mexican approach to the United States鈥, in Marta Tawil et al. (eds.), Integration in North America (1994-2016).
