Expert Bio

Norbert R枚ttgen has been a Christian Democratic Union member of the German Parliament since 1994 and chaired the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag from 2014 to 2021. Previously, he served as German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety from 2009 to 2012, as well as spokesperson for legal policy and parliamentary secretary of the Christian Democratic Party鈥檚 parliamentary group. He is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the transatlantic association Atlantik-Br眉cke and a member of the Advisory Council at the German Council on Foreign Relations.
