AKHTAR ALI is an energy consultant who focuses on energy policy, investments, and tariff issues. He is also a visiting professor of energy at Karachi鈥檚 Institute of Business Management. Previously, he held senior management appointments in Pakistan鈥檚 public and private sectors, including chief executive of Karachi Pipe Mills. He was also a research fellow at Harvard University鈥檚 Kennedy School. His books include Pakistan鈥檚 Energy Development: The Road Ahead (Royal Book Company, 2010).
